Biography

Thank you for dropping by my homepage. I joined the School of Computer, Data and Mathematical Sciences, Western Sydney University in 2012. Before this, I was a postdoctoral researcher at National ICT Australia (NICTA), now merged into DATA61 at CSIRO. I received my PhD, MS and BS in computer science from University of Sydney, University of Virginia (USA) and Peking University (China) respectively. Here is a  short CV of me.

Research Philosophy

I like the following quote from Richard Feynman (1918 - 1988), a Nobel Laureate:

The principle of science, the definition, almost, is the following: the test of all knowledge is experiment. Experiment is the sole judge of scientific "truth". But what is the source of knowledge (laws)? Where do the laws that are to be tested come from? Experiment, itself, helps to produce these laws, in the sense that it gives us hints.

Teaching Philosophy

I attach importance to profound knowledge, careful preparation, inspiration, and enthusiasm.
